The First Final

Real Madrid 4–3 Stade de Reims · Parc des Princes, Paris

Two goals down in ten minutes, Madrid started a dynasty.

Reims, with Kopa, went 2-0 up inside ten minutes in Paris. Di Stéfano pulled one back almost at once and Madrid dragged the game level twice, finally taking it through Rial's late goal. It was the first European Cup final and the start of five straight wins.
