Eighteen-year-old Owen ran through Argentina's defence.

Owen was 18 when he took Beckham's pass on the halfway line, ran past Chamot and Ayala and fired across Roa into the far corner. It was the best goal of England's tournament. Beckham's red card and a shoot-out defeat ended it.
