The Ball That Wouldn't Spin

Man Utd 2–0 Portsmouth · Old Trafford, Manchester

Thirty yards out, no spin, and a keeper left guessing.

Ten minutes had gone when Ronaldo finished a one-two with Nani. Three minutes later he stood over a free-kick around thirty yards out and hit it with almost no spin, so the ball dipped and moved late. David James never got close.
