Five From Five in Berlin

Italy 1–1 France · 5–3 on pens · Olympiastadion, Berlin

Five from five from the spot, and a Trezeguet crossbar.

Zidane chipped France ahead from the spot after seven minutes, and Materazzi, who gave the penalty away, headed Italy level twelve minutes later. Buffon turned Zidane's extra-time header over the bar, Zidane was sent off for the headbutt on Materazzi, and the shoot-out settled it. Italy scored all five; Trezeguet's crossbar was the only miss, and Grosso took the last one.
