The game had been flat for half an hour when Grimandi fed Henry on the edge of the box, back to goal. He flicked the ball up with his left foot, turned, and volleyed it high past Barthez into the top corner. It was Manchester United's first league defeat of the season, and the only goal of the afternoon.
