Maradona Takes Belgium Apart

Argentina 2–0 Belgium · Estadio Azteca, Mexico City

Two goals, twelve minutes, and Belgium never found a way back.

Belgium kept it goalless until the 51st minute. Then Maradona ran onto Burruchaga's pass and finished past Pfaff, and twelve minutes later he wove through the defence for a second. Argentina were in the final.
