The Header That Saved La Décima

Real Madrid 4–1 Atlético · AET · Estádio da Luz, Lisbon

Ramos found the net in the third minute of stoppage time.

Atlético were ahead and about to win a first European Cup when Modrić swung in a corner and Sergio Ramos headed it into the left side of the net. The goal came in the third minute of stoppage time, and extra time belonged to Madrid: Bale, Marcelo and a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty made it 4-1. La Décima, a tenth European Cup, hung on that one header.
