Seventeen Years in Bilbao

Spurs 1–0 Man Utd · San Mamés, Bilbao

Son finally lifts a trophy, and Tottenham end 17 years of waiting.

Spurs had gone 17 years without a trophy, and Son, captain since 2023, had never won one with them. In Bilbao he started on the bench, came on for Richarlison after 67 minutes and helped protect the lead Johnson had bundled in before half-time. At the whistle it was Son who lifted the cup.
