Şükür's Eleven-Second Goal

South Korea 2–3 Turkey · Daegu World Cup Stadium, Daegu

Eleven seconds in, Turkey were ahead for good.

South Korea kicked off, lost the ball almost at once, and Şükür scored after 10.8 seconds, the quickest goal in World Cup history. İlhan Mansız then scored twice in the first half hour, and Turkey held on for third place. Song Chong-gug's goal in added time came too late for the co-hosts.
