Privacy

NINE23 is run by Nine23 Ltd., a company registered in Malta. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. Short version: very little, and nothing is sold.

What we collect

If you join the first-drop list or leave your email at checkout, we keep your email address, the date, where on the site you signed up, the country your connection came from, and, if you told us, the shirt you were looking at. We also record when you confirmed your address and, if you do, when you unsubscribed.

We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It does not use cookies or identify you; it records things like the page, the country and the type of device.

If you tick “Share it on the wall” under a memory, we receive that memory, the name and town you chose to add (both optional), the night it belongs to, the time and the country your connection came from. We read it before it goes up, may shorten or tidy it, and then show it publicly on that night’s page. To stop anyone flooding the wall, we briefly keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your connection’s address for about an hour; we cannot turn it back into the address.

If you send someone a night, we keep the night, the name and the line you wrote (both optional) and the time, so the link can show them. The link works for three years, then it is deleted. To stop the link being abused, we briefly keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your connection’s address for about an hour.

To learn which nights and shirts people care about, the app sends an anonymous count when someone saves a night, wants or owns a shirt, adds to the bag, plays a clip, shares or sends a night, or picks a club. It carries only what was counted (for example “wanted: Brazil 2002 home”), never who you are. Each device counts once per item per day; to enforce that we keep a scrambled version of the connection’s address for one day.

Everything else you do in the app, such as saved nights, shirts you own or want, your private memories, game streaks and the year you were born, stays on your own phone or computer (in its local storage). We never see it.

If you press play on a video, it plays from YouTube (Google), which then receives your IP address and may set cookies under its own privacy policy. Nothing is sent to YouTube until you press play.

Why

Your email is used only to confirm your sign-up, to tell you when the first drop and checkout open, and about NINE23 launches. Every email has a one-tap unsubscribe link. The legal basis is your consent, which you give when you sign up and confirm, and can withdraw any time.

Memories you share on the wall are published because you asked us to (your consent). You can ask us to take one down any time.

Visit counts help us understand which pages are useful (our legitimate interest in running the site).

Anonymous counts and gift links are part of running the app you asked to use (our legitimate interest in understanding what people want, and in delivering the link you made).

Who handles it

The site, the email list and the memories wall are hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. Emails are sent through Resend (Resend, Inc.). Both process data only for us under their data processing terms, which include safeguards for transfers outside the EU. Videos you choose to play come from YouTube. We do not sell or share your data with anyone else.

How long

We keep your email until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until 24 months after launch if you never hear from us, whichever is first.

Shared memories stay on the wall until you ask us to remove them or we take the wall down. Ones we decide not to publish are deleted when we review them.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, object to its use, or withdraw consent, by emailing [email protected]. You can also complain to Malta’s Information and Data Protection Commissioner (idpc.org.mt).

To clear what the app keeps on your own device, clear this site’s data in your browser settings.
