The Header in Durban

Spain 1–0 Germany · Moses Mabhida Stadium, Durban

One corner, one header, and Spain reached their first World Cup final.

Germany sat in a tight shape and hit Spain on the break; Spain kept the ball and waited. The 73rd-minute corner was Xavi's, the header was Puyol's, and Neuer did little to stop it. Spain held that single goal to the whistle and reached their first World Cup final.
